Step 3 - Method 1: Download assets via web interface

In this step, the Art Director will need to download all the assets gathered earlier in Step 2 to his or her local machine. Once that’s done, the Art Director can finish the publication’s layout using their preferred tool.

The content can be downloaded using our InDesign Extension (recommended if you have access to Adobe InDesign) or directly from the Collaborate web interface (for those without access to InDesign).

Method 1: Downloading Assets via Web Interface

If you don’t have access to InDesign or prefer to use a different tool for creating your layout, you can download all assets gathered in Step 2 using our web interface.

Flatplan

All assets uploaded for the articles and ads in the publication can be downloaded as one .zip file from the Flatplan tab.

To download (from the Account dashboard):

1. Click on the publication to get to the flatplan. (You can also click on the publication if you are in the Publications tab.)
2. On the bottom right of the screen, you’ll see a DOWNLOAD button next to the Content header. Click the DOWNLOAD button.
3. A dialog box with the message “A file with the content is being prepared. You will receive an email when it’s ready for download” will show up on the bottom right of the page.
4. Check your email for a message with a link to download the .zip file.

NOTE: Preparing the .zip file can take a few minutes, so please do be patient if you don’t receive the download email right away.

Articles

Content for individual articles can be downloaded from that particular article’s page. This will also be generated as a .zip file.

To download (from the Flatplan view):

1. Click on the title of the article to get to the Article page.
2. On the right side of the page, click on DOWNLOAD CONTENT.
3. You’ll see a dialog box with the message “A file with the content is being prepared. You will receive an email when it’s ready for download” on the bottom right of the page.
4. Check your email for a message with a link to download the .zip file.

To download individual assets on pages, click Download beneath each individual asset in the Article view. The assets selected will download automatically.

Ads

Content for individual ads can be downloaded from the Ads tab. Here’s how:

1. Select Ads from the top navigation menu.
2. On the Ads page, click to select the ad you want. The assets for that ad will show up on the right side of the page.
3. Click Download below the asset to download to your local machine.
