Groups feature will be phased out on April 11, 2025. Please see below for a brief overview of the Groups feature and what you can do next.
What is the Groups Feature?
Issuu’s Groups functionality allowed users to collaborate and manage content as a team. By default, Issuu accounts are individual, but with the Groups feature, users could use their accounts as Group accounts to share publishing workflows with teammates.
Group accounts included:
-
Admin/Owner: Full access to all features, including billing and settings.
-
Team Members: Access to publishing-related tools.
Depending on your plan:
-
Premium: Supported 3 users (1 Admin + 2 members)
-
Optimum: Supported up to 25 users (1 Admin + 24 members)
To access a Group account, users logged into their individual account and switched to the Group account via the profile menu.
What Are Your Options?
To continue collaborating, we recommend upgrading to our Teams plan, which retains collaborative functionality and adds powerful new tools:
-
Remove the Issuu logo from your flipbooks
-
Organize flipbooks in separate workspaces with admin controls
-
Single sign-on for added security
-
Lead generation forms built into your publications
-
Shortened, trackable links for easier sharing
-
Enhanced brand control with no suggested content
-
Unlimited analytics, including geographic insights
-

What Happens If You Don’t Upgrade?
If no action is taken, the Groups feature will be disabled on April 11, 2025, and all invitees—including the Group account—will become individual accounts. Each account will retain its:
-
Login email
-
Subscription
-
Content
No content will be lost.
For example, a Group with one owner and two members will become four accounts:
-
The original Group account
-
The Owner's individual account
-
Member 1’s individual account
-
Member 2’s individual account
To maintain access to the Group account after deactivation:
-
Ensure access to the email tied to the Group account
-
Either reset the password after April 11 or set a new one before the feature is retired:
Steps for the Group account owner:
-
Log into their individual account
-
Switch to the Group account from the profile menu
-
Open Account Settings > My Information
-
Set a password for the Group account
How to Upgrade to the Teams Plan
To upgrade to Teams, the account owner should:
-
Log into their individual account
-
Switch to the Group account from the profile menu
-
Go to Account Settings > My Information
-
Set a password for the Group account
-
Visit the Upgrade page and follow the instructions to move to the Teams plan
-
Invite current Group members to join the new Teams account
