Content flagged as explicit is removed from the general streams, but is not deleted from the Issuu platform. Readers can still read your publication. However, readers would need to SIGN UP or LOG IN with an Issuu account in order to have access to it. Please see below for suggested workarounds.
Premium/Optimum Plan Workaround
As a Premium or Optimum plan paid publisher, you can easily embed your content from Issuu on your website and have more control over how your content is displayed on your own website, without worrying about a content warning or users needing to sign in to view the publication. Embedded publications also tend to receive twice the number of reads as those that aren't embedded.
Basic Plan Workaround
A free publisher workaround would be to embed your content on a website or blog, so your readers don't have to visit Issuu at all in order to read it. The content warning will not show up on the embedded document, and your readers should be able to access it easily.
Wrongfully Flagged Content
Issuu has instituted a more stringent flagging system in order to more robustly prevent explicit publications from showing up in the general stream. With this, some publications can be wrongfully flagged. If you believe your content does in fact meet our content guidelines and is wrongfully flagged, please submit a request to Issuu support. We’d be happy to reevaluate the content. Unfortunately, if your publication contains any content such as what is outlined in our Content Guidelines, we will not be able to remove the flag.
NOTE: When submitting a request please remember to include the link to your flagged content as well as an explanation about why you believe your content is wrongfully flagged.
