When you upload to Issuu you can choose to publish it as 'Private'. It will exclude the document from Issuu.com (our search engine, community, sharing etc.). The link is only known to you, but accessible to anyone who knows it. So be careful if you share it publicly, as a search engine might discover it.

Private publications is a great way to test how a publication looks before you upload it, or if you want to create a private library for your eyes only.

You can later on make a private publication public, but you can't make a public publication private (because the link has been made public).

How to publish a publication as 'private'.

  1. When you upload a publication to Issuu, expand the tab 'Publishing options' and select 'private'.
  2. Once the publication is done converting it will appear in My Library with a small padlock icon.

Please note: We do not currently offer options to password protect or charge for uploaded publications.
